An introduction to the Rapha Prestige
The Rapha Prestige is not a race; it’s an unsupported, unsanctioned, and unmarshalled adventure across stunning terrain, and designed to bring out the camaraderie and suffering of road riding. The rules are simple, and the course is tough. Team members must ride and finish together.
Prepare for approximately 120km and 2,500m of elevation. Expect to be on the bike for between 8-12 hours. Taking place in Noto Peninsula, Japan, we will seek out the roads less travelled, aiming to be quite remote at times. The surface will be mixed, with sections ranging from perfect black tarmac to rugged gravel. The full route will be revealed, only to confirmed participants, one week before the ride.
Road helmets and drop bars. No TT helmets or TT bars. We’d recommend 25mm tires for extra resilience against punctures. We strongly recommend teams use wheels with aluminium brake tracks with clincher tyres. Teams must carry their own spares (tubes, tires, nutrition, etc.) and be completely self-sufficient.
Up to 20 teams of five female riders will be confirmed. Teams must contain at least four riders, and can contain both RCC and non-RCC members. Two teams will be reserved exclusively for RCC-only member teams.
JPY ¥20,000 per team plus an after-party fee and contribution of a box of sweets.
Once your application has been accepted, Rapha Japan will be in touch with payment details.
The event starts and finishes at Uchinada Machi Athletic Park (内灘町総合運動公園)MAP
