Angus's Ride

I’m a big fan of the Ettalong loop heading north up to Palm Beach through Oxford Falls and Avalon. Taking the ferry across to Ettalong then continuing north up to Gosford then all the way back along the old Pacific highway. A refuel at the Brooklyn Tuckshop is not to be missed!

How did you get into cycling?

Growing up in Melbourne I spent most of my free time riding mountain bikes in summer and skiing in the winter. Downhill mountain biking took its toll with a broken collarbone so I moved on to cyclocross as a “safer” alternative. I raced two seasons before moving to Sydney where road riding became a larger part of my activities.

What do you do away from cycling?

I’m currently in my final year of an Architecture degree at UNSW so that takes up a fair bit of time. After a while riding in Sydney you take the views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the amazing Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building for granted, but I know how lucky I am to live here. Every day I try to discover a different view of the city, and apart from that, I enjoy skiing with friends and family.
