  1. The Rapha Continental: the art of cycling

    文字: | 日期:

The Rapha Continental began in the USA’s Pacific Northwest with a man called Daniel Wakefield Pasley (DWP), who initially pitched the idea back in 2004. 2. Journey

Being a writer at Rapha can be tricky. After all, they say a picture paints a thousand words. So consider that Ben Ingham has taken something like 50,000 images (that’s before an edit) and has had at least 50 per year published online and in print since 2004. It’s hard to compete. The first Rapha brochure, with a grainy shot of a rider carrying his bike down a stairwell on the cover, contained merely a list of products at the back. The pictures did all the talking. And since then images of this ‘kind’ have had a huge impact on the way the cycling world looks at the sport. But there was a lot of work done behind the scenes to get the kit and vehicles ready and waiting for riders and staff in Paris.

Bethnal Green is the beating heart of east London. A heart that’s been broken and unbroken many times, it’s an area that contains both contemporary and the contorted faces of the capital’s fashion, art and finance industries.

Team Sky put on a masterclass in tactical and athletic prowess on stage 4 of Paris-Nice: Richie Porte and Geraint Thomas finishing with an emphatic one-two knockout on the 1200m summit finish.
