Meet the Rapha Travel Team

Read short profiles of our guides, mechanics, soigneurs and route experts. They will take care of you and your bike, guide you out on the road, keep you inspired and ensure you get the utmost from every minute of your trip.

Anton Blackie / Guide / Oxford, England

“I’ve raced in pretty much every discipline – BMX, downhill, cyclo-cross, cross-country, time trials, hill climbs, track and road – and in recent years I’ve tried my luck at audaxing. You’ll find me at Paris-Brest-Paris this year, my third outing at the event. I love seeking out the less-ridden roads with Rapha Travel, making bespoke itineraries and unique experiences.”

Ben Lieberson / Guide / London, England & Los Angeles, USA

“Outside is free.”

Ben is an original member of the Rapha Continental and has made many appearances in Rapha photo shoots and on Rapha Mobile Cycle Clubs. He is an avowed advocate of enjoying the outdoors.

Brad Sauber / Head of Rapha Travel / California, USA & London, England

Brad has more than 29 years of experience creating and hosting trips around the globe. From Bolivia to Bhutan, the Himalayas to the Alps, Brad has shown thousands of guests how to discover the magic of their destinations. He owns an undisclosed number of bikes.

Charlie Tennick / Soigneur / Rotherham, England

Charlie has travelled all over the world thanks to cycling, from competing in the Caribbean to working as the personal soigneur for Team Sky’s Ben Swift. With his vast experience as both a soigneur and racer, Charlie is ready to lend his expertise to curing all riding ailments.

Chris Stack / Guide / South Australia

“I’m rarely happier than when riding my bike in the mountains. I’ve ridden with the Rapha Continental in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, always searching out the best mountain roads and cups of coffee.”

James Heraty / Operations Manager / Hampshire, England

James has ridden in Cape Epic, Peak-2-Peak and the 24-hour cross-country world championships. He writes about his adventures for some of the UK’s leading cycling publications and his enthusiasm will inspire you to ride harder than you thought possible while enjoying every moment of the journey.

Mattia Bettagno / Mechanic / Varese, Italy

Mattia is from the heart of Lombardy, an area infused with cycling culture. He began racing aged seven and has worked in world-renowned bicycle shops. After travelling around the world Mattia is once again a resident of Varese and is the expert caretaker of Rapha Travel’s fleet of Pinarellos.

Max Leonard / Guide / London, England

Max grew up in London but succumbed to the allure of the mountains, where he spends much of his time riding. He is a Rapha UK Continental rider and writes for Rouleur, Cyclist and the Rapha City Cycling series. His first book, Lanterne Rouge: the Last Man in the Tour de France, is published by Yellow Jersey Press.

Phil Deeker / Guide / Belgian Ardennes
