HQ Café Assistant, London

The Rapha HQ Café is at the heart of the London office. It provides staff and visitors with great coffee, food and drink and is somewhere to meet and watch road racing on the big screen. It’s the social hub of the UK business and is where employees begin the week with company meetings on Monday and end the week with drinks on a Friday.

The HQ Café Assistant is a key ambassador for the internal culture and environment we have created at HQ. They ensure the Café has the look and feel of our flagship Cycle Clubs and provide staff and visitors with legendary service.

Working alongside the Café & Front of House Supervisor, they will report into the Office Manager.

The Role:

  • Make great coffee and serve beautifully presented food
  • Ensure presentation of the HQ Café and Reception is to the highest standard
  • Carry out a weekly stock take and keep the café well stocked at all times
  • Accurately take payments and transactions
  • Maintain set up and close down records
  • Partner with Café & Front of House Supervisor: welcome all visitors and communicate to staff when their visitors have arrived
  • Effectively cover the Café & Front of House Supervisor when they are on a break
  • If leaving the floor, communicate effectively so that the café/reception area is never unmanned

Product Developer/Garment Technologist, London

Due to the continued expansion of the product range Rapha is now looking to appoint a garment technologist to work on a broad range of cycling apparel. This is an excellent opportunity for an established product developer/garment technologist to progress their career in a specialist product area and play a central role in the Development team at Rapha.

The Role:

  • Support the Product Development Manager in all aspects of product development of Rapha product.
  • Develop products from design handover to signed-off pre-production stage

Shipping Expert, London

As a result of continued growth, a new position has arisen for a Shipping Expert within our Logistics Team.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage and co-ordinate the inbound shipping of Rapha products within the Rapha Supply Chain with the primary goals of; increased efficiency and reduction of cost. This is a commercially focused role requiring an understanding of Supply Chain, Distribution Centres (DC), Buying and Merchandising.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the flow of stock from supplier to DC
  • Ensure timely receipt of product at DC daily along with any issue resolution
  • Run a tender process for suppliers of freight, air and road services
  • Coordinate suppliers, shipping agents and Rapha DCs
  • Minimise shipping costs including inbound shipment consolidation
  • Challenge current procedures to improve speed to market
  • Provide a conduit between Merchandising, Production and Finance departments
  • Maintain a daily dashboard of product in transit and inbound delivery schedule for the Trading Team
  • Achieve SLA of transit-time and shipping cost per unit

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years’ experience in the administration of sea, land and airfreight with access to a wide network of suppliers and possess the following experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of customs procedures and Incoterms
  • Experience in shipping, freight and haulage (European and Inter-Continental)

Systems Accountant, London

The Role 

Owner of finance system processes and controls

  • Monitoring, maintaining and improving finance system functions and controls to support finance team operations and reporting
  • Finance system administrator – owner for review and implementing system change requests
  • Continual review and implementation of internal system controls, ensure external auditors can place reliance on systems

Project management lead and change implementation

  • Project manage change processes within finance system, business partnering with other departments/users to ensure smooth implementation across the business

Assistant Accountant, London

Rapha has been growing its network of Cycle Clubs over the last two years. This year the company plans to roll out further stores and therefore the finance team is looking for a highly competent all-rounder to take ownership of the bookkeeping for the new Cycle Club.

Role

The role will involve all aspects of bookkeeping for a new Rapha entity, from purchase ledger entry and bank reconciliation to managing the entity fixed asset register, stock reconciliation and assisting with tax compliance and month end reporting.

Role

Role

The Group Financial Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance and will involve day to day management of the UK financial accounting team and owning the monthly consolidation of the group accounts. Mobile Cycle Club Ambassadors, Europe

The Mobile Cycle Club Ambassadors are responsible for running Rapha’s Mobile Cycle Club program. The Mobile Cycle Club is a traveling version of Rapha Cycle Clubs, a destination to celebrate the sport of road racing, bring cycling fans together, and showcase the Rapha collections. It allows customers to touch, try on and buy Rapha products. Caffeine-addicted cyclists know that Rapha is famous for serving some of the best coffee at rides, races and events.

The Mobile Cycle Club will be primarily based in continental Europe for the 2015 season, with many weekend visits to major sportive events. A working knowledge of Italian, French or German is therefore very useful, although not a prerequisite for the role.

Due to the demands of the role, we are looking for a two-person team that will be on the road together from March until end of September.

The Role:

  • Manage the execution of the MCC activities at events, rides and races.
  • Provide a face to the brand for our customers.
  • Present the MCC in a way that will consistently meet its objectives.

The RCC Concierge & Events Coordinator is the key point of contact for RCC members, connecting members with their local RCC community and providing a personalised service to members, keeping them up to date with all RCC activity. Alongside their Concierge responsibilities, the RCC Concierge & Events Coordinator is responsible for overseeing events and engaging with local communities for Cycle Clubs. This person will work closely with many functions within the business: collaborating with the GM, Retail, Communications, Content, and the London HQ office (creative).

The RCC Concierge & Events Coordinator will be a representative of the brand to consumers, industry partners, and the press. A positive force for the brand, this person will play a critical role within their regional team. They will epitomise the Rapha brand and share its values for providing the ultimate customer experience.

The RCC Concierge & Events Coordinator will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore, and have a dual reporting line to the RCC Manager in London, and the South East Asia Marketing & Sales Manager.

The Role

Events Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a monthly event program for the Cycle Club, including;
    • Event creation, in collaboration with CC General Managers
    • Event planning and execution
      • Budget
      • Logistics
      • Creative (email communication, signage, postcards etc)
      • F&B planning
      • Content, in collaboration with the UK Marketing team
      • Social media
      • PR, in collaboration with UK Press Officer
      • RSVP list management, in collaboration with UK Marketing Assistant
      • Coordination with General Managers and the London office on day/night of execution
      • CC Staff training/communication
  • Post-event Recap
  • Manage/sync monthly event calendar with relevant national events
  • Partner with the London Creative Team on market-specific creative needs
  • Partner with General Manager and Content Manager on content development and social media strategy
  • Partner with café manager on event logistics and coordination
  • Partner with Press Officer on local PR opportunities
  • Manage and build relations with best customers and ambassadors including regular communication and helping with special events.
  • Assist at events, including weekends

RCC Concierge Responsibilities;

  • Develop strong personal relationships and act as a regular point of contact and service to RCC members in the community
  • Report weekly on customer insight to the RCC Manager as well as Customer Service and Marketing teams
  • Work closely with the Regional Marketing team in the coordination and execution of events and projects
  • Assist in developing and leading events which tie-in with regional and global campaigns, activities and product launches
  • Work with the RCC Manager and CC Manager in creating, coordinating and communicating via all channels (forum, social media, emails) new initiatives and events for members. These may include:
    • Organising regular Group Rides
    • Access to exclusive events
    • Organising at least one RCC race near the Cycle Club’s key geographies
  • Responsibility for supporting the racing of RCC members in local leagues: organising registrations, coordinating transport to and from races as well as communicating race information
  • Publish regular reports on RCC events and activity
  • Regularly communicate with other Concierges to ensure best practice, new ideas and consistency runs through the RCC

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Experienced rider and passionate about riding and racing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised, self-motivated and numerically literate
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Confident and outgoing
  • Ability to adapt to the changing structure of a growing company and team
  • Proven ability to network and communicate
  • Excellent understanding of Rapha products and the brand
  • Possess an excellent sense of quality and style
  • Previous experience working in an office and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with social media
  • Excellent / proven Customer Service attitude with experience of demanding clientele
  • Fluent in both English and Cantonese; a good command of Mandarin would be beneficial
  • Strong written skills in both English and traditional Chinese
  • Willing to work at least 1 day every weekend
  • Willing to travel for events, across key geographies in South East Asia and Greater China

Professional Bike Mechanics (Contract from April 2015)

Location: Various European Haute Routes and the USA

Rapha Travel offer once in a lifetime cycling journeys, on the greatest roads of Europe and now the USA. From Radonees, weeklong adventures along classic routes, to the ultimate endurance challenge of 100 summits in 10 days of the Cent Cols Challenge.

The Role

  • Train junior technicians (and guests) on proper repairs and maintenance procedures throughout geographically diverse locations
  • Field and prioritize emergency requests for service and dispatch technicians as needed
  • Quickly inspect, diagnose and repair high volume of faulty equipment
  • Ensure owner supplied tools are available and in good working condition at each location
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for repairs and maintenance
  • Perform routine site visits and track quality of equipment maintenance in our service courses
  • Assist management in purchasing parts
  • Be away from home for 2-5 weeks at a time

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in the following areas and display the following personal characteristics

  • At least 3 years of mechanical repairs experience in a professional bike shop
  • Certification from one of the following is preferred, but not mandatory: UBI, USA Cycling, Park Tools
  • Experience on a professional bike racing team is would be helpful, but not mandatory
  • Ability to work on all levels of bikes: from new in box to ready to ride
  • Strong foreign language skills for our European departures (French / Italian)
  • Speaks knowledgeably about equipment
  • Unrivaled patience and troubleshooting skills with the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Take ownership of keeping service course and tool boxes organized
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work non-traditional hours
  • Proficient Garmin GPS computer skills
  • Road cycling, cycle sport racing and culture knowledge
  • Full, clean, driving license
