A there-and-back race that has been running since 1892, the often-terrible spring weather in the Ardennes also encourages exciting racing. We look forward to La Doyenne with a look back at some of its greatest victories.

  2. Rapha Prestige Launceston

    As the sun set over Northern Tasmania’s Tamar Valley on Friday 13th March 2015, the Rapha Prestige Launceston began, with riders gathering on the deck of the Barrel Room Restaurant at Velo Wines. Teams huddled together, nervously discussing tactics and tyre/cog selections for the following day’s 170km adventure to the highest point of Tasmania’s only alpine region, the Ben Lomond National Park. Unbeknownst to the riders, just a week prior the summit had unseasonably received its first snow of the year. The brutality of the Tasmanian landscape and climate would be a defining feature of the weekend.

  3. Rapha Travel: The post-ride repose

    When is your favourite moment on a ride? Is it those first pedal strokes? Or maybe it’s a hill, or a descent? But how about afterwards? That glorious arrival home and lazy slump onto the sofa, still wearing your lycra. That counts. The enormous plate of food, a guilt-free dessert and an afternoon spent doing whatever you want. Some form of nothingness with eyes glazed, probably. Post-ride is the time you have earned with your previous exertions.
