To celebrate summer, grand tours and the heritage of road racing fashions we present portraits of iconic riders epitomising the epoch (and eyewear) they competed in. First up it’s André Leducq, the strong-chinned Parisian who holds the third highest number of Tour de France stage wins and two overall victories at the race.
Team Sky put on a masterclass in tactical and athletic prowess on stage 4 of Paris-Nice: Richie Porte and Geraint Thomas finishing with an emphatic one-two knockout on the 1200m summit finish. After Norweigan Lars Petter Nordhaug drove the group from the bottom of the the Croix de Chaubouret in the Loire, new boy Nicolas Roche took control, putting in a big effort to help distance Andrew Talansky (Garmin Cannondale), Rafal Majka (Tinkoff-Saxo) and Wilco Kelderman (Team Lotto NL-Jumbo).
