Women’s 100 Training Series
Bringing together women riders around the world, the second annual Rapha Women’s 100, on July 20th, promises to be quite an event. To help you prepare to ride the 100km, over the coming months the Rapha Cycle Club New York City is hosting a series of training rides. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a brand new roadie, the training rides provide the perfect opportunity to reach your fitness goals and meet new friends and training partners along the way. The rides will be hosted every Sunday and will increase in length leading up to the July 20th milestone.
Saturday Morning Rides
Meet at 8:30am for coffee, pedals turning by 9am. Route will vary, but will be 40-60 miles. The pace will be ‘recreational’ to accommodate every road rider’s ability. Perfect weather always predicted.
Wednesday Morning Freelancer’s Ride
We will head over to the Hudson River for a quick 2.5 hours up River Road and back down Route 9W. A great way to grab a ride with fellow roadies away from the hectic weekend bike traffic. Whether you’re on vacation, visiting from another city, or just working a flexible schedule, this will be the ride to join.
Meet at the cycle club at 10AM, roll out at 10:30AM. Led by Jonathan Retseck of Hudson Sportif.
Thursday Morning Ride
Meet at 5:40am at Columbus Circle for a spirited training ride of 4-6 laps around Central Park (to finish before the road is open to automobiles). For the those looking to burn all the matches and leave it all on the road before work, join the NYC Rapha Racing team for a few hot laps around Central Park. The pace is high and often includes some training games to ensure you hit your max heart rate before 7am.
Riders should feel comfortable riding in a paceline, and basic road racing etiquette is required.
Last-minute ride details or cancelations are posted on the team’s Facebook page »
