CANYON//SRAM Ride and Q&A

In the morning, Rapha will be hosting a ride with CANYON//SRAM riders Hannah Barnes (current British National Road Champion) and Mieke Kröger (current German National Road Champion), taking a route through the beautiful Cheshire Lanes as a gentle leg-stretcher before their race at the Tour de Yorkshire. The ride will meet at Rapha Manchester at 8.30am and finish there in time for lunch. The pace will be social and both men and women are welcome.
In the evening, join us for a live event with The Cycling Podcast who will interview the riders about their season so far and you will have a chance to ask any questions you might have about life as a professional cyclist.
In Conversation with Tom Pidcock
Q&A - May 5th, 6.30pm
Tom Pidcock, a local rider who has made his mark this season with two emphatic world class wins in two cycling disciplines. He is the Junior Cyclo-cross World Champion and winner of the 2017 Junior Paris-Roubaix. We are currently displaying his winning cyclocross bike and world champs jersey in The Gallery and on May 5th we will be joined by the rider himself and Paul Davy will interview this rising star about his newfound fame. Join us to learn how he's reached this stage and what his hopes are for the future.
Manchester to London Evening

The M2L evenings offer a chance to learn about the ride first hand from the event organisers, become more informed about the charity Ambitious about Autism and what they do, and gain insight from riders who have completed the challenge in previous years.
Cyclefit – Preparing for a Challenge

If you've signed up to a big ride or challenge like the L'Etape du Tour, Manchester to London or even a local sportive, this evening will teach you how to approach your training and preparation from several months away to the day of the event.

The Mechanics Series
Workshop Series - Last Wednesday of the Month, 6.30pm
There is a simple joy in being able to repair one’s own bike and hear the low hum of components working harmoniously together. A rider who understands their machine radiates an air of quiet confidence, safe in the knowledge that if anything goes awry, they have the expertise to get back on the road.
RevolveMCR, who run the Rapha Workshop on the ground floor, will share their extensive knowledge over a series of evening sessions. Focusing on one section of the bike per month, they'll explain how the components work and demonstrate how to repair, maintain and service them effectively. You'll get your hands dirty and broaden your skills until you will be worthy of the mechanics title yourself.
Each workshop will take place on the last Wednesday of the month and will cover: roadside repairs, gears and cables, rim brakes, disc brakes, wheels, headsets and bottom brackets.
Bradford – The Heart of British Cyclocross
A collection of images from the National Cyclocross Championships at Peel Park, Bradford, by photographer Paul Davy. This year riders from all over Great Britain including Ian Field, Jack Clarkson, Tom Pidcock, Billy Harding, Amira Mellor and Sophie Thakray amongst many more came together to race for the top position in the country. This selection of images documents moments unique to cyclocross and the dramatic climax of the season.
Pilates for Cyclists
£5 - Starting April 21st, 6.15-7.15pm
Pilates for Cyclists promotes strength and flexibility, and provides an essential base for more efficient, economical and stable cycling. It is designed to improve core strength, and strengthen the deep intrinsic muscles of the spine and abdomen, promoting balance and more efficient use. The core principles of Pilates – precision, control, concentration and symmetry of movement will improve posture, strength and performance. It will relieve muscle tightness and mobilise the joints, help to counteract muscle imbalances, whilst developing muscular strength and endurance.
Price: £5, paid cash on the day.
Yoga for Cyclists
Every Monday and Tuesday - £5
Times Monday morning: 7.30-8.30am
Tuesday evening: 6.15-7.15pm
Price: £5 per session, cash on the day.
Our weekly Yoga for Cyclists classes keep riders flexible and strong. Tuesday evening classes are open to all abilities, and focus on conditioning the whole body to improve core strength, flexibility and prevent injury. Each session will pay attention to common problem areas for cyclists, enhance overall suppleness and avoid stiffness post-ride.
On Monday mornings we offer a special Yin Yoga class which aims to stretch the the joints, fascia and connective tissue by sitting in postures for long periods of time. It allows the muscles to fully relax and generate that much-needed blood flow for recovery and helps to keep joints supple, making them less prone to injury. The perfect antidote after a weekend of hard riding and suitable for all abilities. Join us in the café afterwards for a complimentary pre-work coffee or tea and a chat.
